Greetings
My name is Awajitani Yoshiyuki, and I am the representative and craftsman of this company.
Ever since I was a child, I have loved making and taking apart things, and I would rarely leave the house, staying at home making something.
One day, when I went to see craftsmanship with my father, I met my master. Unlike the works I had been making with all my heart, I learned how to make and think about sophisticated things by considering the shape, structure, and origin of things. At the same time, I began to feel more and more frustrated and worried about my work. That's when kendo helped me. I was able to sweat and face my work with a fresh mind.
It was through kendo that I first encountered stingray leather.
Stingray leather is beautiful and durable, and has been used in Japan since ancient times for Japanese swords and armor. I want to use the techniques that only I can possess to create the best stingray leather, a romantic material beloved by master swordsmen, in the modern era. This is a piece that I have worked hard to create with that desire in mind. It takes time because it requires a strong attention to detail, but I finish each piece carefully. I want to create things that will move everyone.
