【Aging of stingray leather】
There are two types of surface treatments for stingray leather: “bead polishing” and “caviar-black.”
Both are popular and are chosen according to your preference.
Changes in bead polishing over time
Bead polishing polishes the stingray’s scales to a mirror-like quality. It has a smooth texture and turns an amber color as shown in the photo. The more you use it, the more the stingray’s scales will naturally polish and become more shiny.
*Although it is a very durable material, please be aware that dirt such as coffee will stain it. In that case, some pieces may be re-dyed.
Caviar-black aging
The more you use it, the more the surface coating will become polished to reveal the appearance of scales, giving it a texture similar to real caviar.
【Features of the work】
There are techniques to understand the properties of natural materials and make them easier to use.
Partial distortion
Because a single piece of leather is used for the interior, some parts may appear distorted at first. When you first use it, put a certain amount of it in and let it absorb overnight. It will go away as you get used to it.
Sewing position
The seams have been adjusted to shift the sewing position to prevent interference with the zipper and to facilitate maintenance during repairs.
Color
Because it is natural leather, even if the color number is the same, the color shading, unevenness, wrinkles, etc. will vary from piece to piece.
Hardness
Wallets and card cases are made hard at first. By adding the amount that is convenient for the customer and getting used to it, a product that is easy to use and unique to that person will be completed.
When you first use it, put a certain amount of it in and let it absorb overnight.
Serial number
Some of the works have the date, place, and name written somewhere in the artist’s own handwriting, making it clear that they are one-of-a-kind originals.
